We will always have challenges in different stages of our life. And I just to share what are the challenges I faced from my early 20s till my late 20s. From my sharing, you will able to learn from what I experienced, what is my key consideration at that point in time and why I made that decision.
I graduated from ITE (Institute of Technical Education) and I was thinking about what I am going to do when I graduated.
1) Should I continue to further studies or should I start working?
I am not the guy that excels in studies from young. Why do I study for? To find a job? How I stand out from the rest when most of my peers study better than me? So if I really continue my studies, will it make any difference?
As a 19-year-old, I thought that the only difference will be experience! By the time they ended their studies, depending on whether they are going to polytechnic or university, 2-8 years will have passed! I decided to work to gain more experience!
2) Am I earning my worth?
After working for 1 year, I started to feel bored. I started to question myself, am I going to work for the rest of my life? How much do I need to earn in order to retire? Out of curiosity, I roughly calculated how much I am going to earn on a 4k monthly income. If I work for 40 years and stop working at the age 60.
40 years x 12 months = 480 months
480 months x $4,000 = $1,920,000
With this shocking figure, I straight away knew that I am not earning my worth. Most importantly, I am not doing what I love. I still did not know what I love but I know I am not going to work for that job for the rest of my life!
I want to make so much money for me to retire early!
3) What I really want to do with my life?
I spend 5 years attending multiple seminars, ranging from Investment, Personal development to Business. I spend my first year attending free seminars… Whether they are good or bad, I attended every single seminar I found! Then I started to go for paid seminars that I find interesting or can benefit me in the future.
I start to ask myself after attending so many seminars… What do I really want to do with my life? So what if I can earn lots of money if I am not happy with my life? What makes me wake up every morning feeling excited? Rather than existing, I want to live my life to the fullest!

4) Do I really understand myself?
I found out that after attending many seminars, I still don’t really know what I want in life. This time I focused on self-awareness. If I don’t understand myself, how the heck will I know what I want in life?
I asked myself where do I see myself in the future? This time I focused on who I really was and understanding my strengths and weaknesses.
5) I FEEL AWESOME!
Now I am a speaker that inspires youths. I share my own methodology of business fundamentals as well as my own experience from a gamer to who I am today.
Of course, I am still learning every day and in life, there will always be challenges. Hopefully, my sharing will inspire you and when you face challenges in life, don’t give up and keep moving forward!
